5 Ways to Look More Awake
In today’s current climate, the stress of all thats going on can quickly start showing in the way we look. With that in mind, it is important now, more than ever that we look after ourselves properly.
Facial Aesthetics Specialist, Dr Pamela Benito shares 5 simple things you can do each day to help you look, and feel, more awake.
Get a proper night’s sleep
This one is obvious; if you're not sleeping properly, you're going to be tired and as a result of that, your skin will become dull and puffy. After a good night’s sleep, you’ll notice the difference right away.
De-puff your eyes
If you do wake up with puffy eyes, whether you have had enough sleep or not there is a simple way to combat it. Either wash under your eye area with ice cold water or leave a spoon in the freezer the night before and press it down on the same area to reduce any puffiness.
Exercise
Exercising in the morning will wake up your body and get the blood pumping, giving you a rosy, awake-looking glow. As well as that, going for run for example will help you to focus and boost alertness by increasing blood flow to your brain.
Eat lemon or grapefruit
These citrus fruits send signals to the brain to boost production of serotonin; a happy hormone. They also reduce levels of the stress hormone norepinephrine and are packed with vitamin C so work well to increase energy and alertness. Fear not, if you don’t like the taste, you will get the same effect from just sniffing them.
Find the right product
It is worth investing some time and some money in finding a good colour corrector and some skin saviour products. With the right application, you can simply make yourself look more awake in seconds.
