I’ve often wondered about luxury. What counts as luxurious as opposed to ‘nice’. And I think I’ve found the answer thanks to Rosewood London’s Dreamscapes experience in partnership with Dreem Distillery.

The one night package is all centred on one thing: sleep. Or better still, creating the optimal environment to gain the most restful, restorative, and peaceful break. And after the last two years and a half years of working from home, burnout, and living through a pandemic, who doesn't need one of those?

One week before my stay at the Rosewood London, I was very much close to burnout; I had all the symptoms: restlessness, feeling overwhelmed, cynical, and that deep tiredness that hangs over you like a grey cloud. When the invitation popped in my inbox to review the experience, I jumped at the chance.

So, what made it so great? Well herein lies my answer to what luxury means: luxury, in the eyes of Rosewood London, is eliminating the need to think. By that, I mean every single whim or need is taken care of, down to the Votary toiletries in the bathroom (including a toothbrush with Marvis toothpaste!), a turndown service to aid restfulness including Dreem Distilerrary products, and a 24-hour food menu, delivered right to your room. Need a snack at 2 am? Done. Want to watch the latest blockbuster movie? Also taken care of. How about a minibar full of beer, cola, bijou juices, chocolate, and crisps? And I’m 100% here for it.

I was privileged enough to stay in the Premier Suite, an expansive space with two toilets, one, deep bathtub, a waterfall shower, living room, dressing room and a separate bedroom with the most; the kind of bed you sink into, enveloped with comfort. Of course, monogrammed and personalised bedding is also supplied. After enjoying the space for a couple of hours, I went down to the Holborn Dining Room to enjoy cocktails, exceptionally soft and creamy burrata, and buttery and rich pies. Delectable, and an undeniable treat. Arriving back to the room, I was welcomed by a table of sleep turndown service full of tranquil Pukka Tea, an array of honey and lemon, and teapots of warm water to help wind down for the evening. But the icing on the cake was the box of Dreem Distillery goodies.

But back to the Dreamscapes experience: Alongside luxurious surroundings, on-demand butler, waterfall shower, and expansive array of amenities, guests experiencing the Dreamscapes can also select one 60 minutes deeply relaxing treatment at Sense, A Rosewood Spa, as well as a 60-minute private AWE session. I went for a personalised massage the morning after the night before (and before you get any ideas, I mean a refreshing, uninterrupted nights sleep in a cloud of bedding enveloping each contour), administered by the ever welcoming and exceptionally knowledgable Denise (book her in ASAP, and you won't be disappointed). This personalised massage was exactly that: each area was targeted in a prescriptive way, alleviating all aches and pains and resetting every button. My partner was quietly astounded by the spark in my eye that had been missing for a long time.

This unforgettable experience has rejuvenated me, bringing me back to myself and helping rest my body, mind and spirit, ready to conquer 2022. Bring it on.
