POTENZA: The Versatile RF Microneedling Device that has Editors Hooked

WHAT does the potenza treatment INVOLVE
As with Morpheous8, I was told to arrive an hour earlier than my appointment to allow for the application of numbing cream and to give the anaesthetic enough time to work so to ensure the procedure is as comfortable as possible. Around fifty minutes later the cream is removed and the skin on my face and neck throughly cleansed, ready to start the treatment.
Having previous experience Morpheous8 and expecting similar pain levels, I was bracing myself for an exceedingly uncomfortable 45 minutes or so (The numbing cream dulls the pain of Morpheous8, it doesn’t get rid of it!). Yet when my skin eventually met with the Potenza device, I was pleasantly surprised. Even as the device glided over the notoriously sensitive bony areas such as the jawline, cheek bones and forehead, there wasn’t so much as a flinch.
Now don’t get me wrong, this is not a relaxing “spa facial” experience but then, that’s wasn’t what I was there for. I was there for a treatment with proven results and more frequently than not, results come with a trade off, usually in the form of some time spent being “uncomfortable”. Which is exactly what the Potenza experience was. Not painful, just a little bit uncomfortable.
Once my full face, neck and eye area had been treated, I am cleaned up and ready to go about my day.
IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME
Whilst I happily walked out of the clinic head held up high, my skin did have a fairly sever “sun burnt” appearance, making me feel rather grateful that I had remembered to pack my sunglasses despite the lack of sunny weather. It also had that similar feeling to sunburn, without out matching the pain level as what it would feel like if the level of post procedure redness was actually from sunburn.
Some people can also experience some post procedure swelling however this was not something that I had particularly noticed myself. From day day two it’s pretty plain sailing.
Over the next 5-7 days you can expect some dryness as the micro-injuries heal, potentially a bit of flakiness but nothing that would make you want to hideaway all week. By week two your skin will start to glow and by week 6 you will be reaping the results of your treatment. These resulting will continue to improve over the coming months.
THE RESULTS
111 Harley St. recommend 5-8 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart for optimum results. Just two treatments down and the results are already speaking for them selves. My skin-tone is more even, fine lines seem diminished and I’m pretty sure I feel more bounce back.
