doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation Distributes 68,000 Emergency Kits as Philanthropic Reach Expands

The doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation distributed 68,725 emergency relief kits during the first nine months of 2025, continuing a nine-year effort that has placed nearly 445,000 hygiene kits in the hands of disaster survivors worldwide. Each 72-hour kit contains essential hygiene supplies designed for immediate deployment following floods, fires, tornadoes, hurricanes, and other crises.
Volunteers assembled 19,100 kits at the company's 2025 convention service project. A team of 766 volunteers and 65 employees worked together on the assembly line, and those kits have already been distributed to recipients.
The Pleasant Grove, Utah-based foundation marked its 15th anniversary in June 2025, announcing total contributions exceeding $55 million since its 2010 inception.
Match Program Doubles Community Impact
The foundation's match program approved 62 projects in 2025, with more than 1,165 projects funded since the program began. The initiative doubles individual fundraising efforts by matching donations to nonprofits selected by participants. Each approved project up to $10,000 receives dollar-for-dollar foundation support, effectively doubling the financial impact on receiving nonprofits.

"The doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation has transformed lives and communities worldwide, creating a ripple effect of positive change," said Misty Bond, vice president of corporate relations and philanthropy, during the June anniversary event. "Our projects not only uplift those directly served but also empower the volunteers and organizers who bring them to life."
doTERRA International absorbs all administrative and overhead costs for the foundation, allowing 100 percent of donated funds to reach intended recipients. The parent company contributed $1,180,000 in administrative support during 2024, according to nonprofit filings.
Emergency Response Spans Multiple Disaster Types
The 68,725 emergency kits distributed through September 2025 responded to flooding, wildfires, tornadoes, hurricanes, and international humanitarian needs. Recipients also included homeless populations and shelter residents. Following Hurricanes Helene and Milton in October 2024, the foundation distributed close to 28,000 kits to affected families in Florida and North Carolina.
Dawn Guidry and Shyron Bynog, wellness advocates who distributed kits in Keaton Beach, Florida, observed the community response firsthand. "Everyone was excited and very appreciative of the relief kits and couldn't wait to try out the Deep Blue Rub," they reported after delivering supplies to an area hit by both hurricanes.
One North Carolina recipient described receiving a kit after several days without basic supplies. "After several days, some neighbors from South Carolina were able to bring us some water and a few supplies," the recipient wrote. "And in our bag was a doTERRA 72-Hour Emergency Relief Hygiene kit for each of us; we saw some light in our darkness."
Convention Fundraising Adds to Annual Total
The 2025 convention generated $78,551 for foundation operations, supplementing the broader fundraising efforts that brought in $1,775,909 through the first three quarters. The convention also served as a volunteer mobilization point for kit assembly.
The foundation operates as a registered 501(c)(3) organization, making contributions tax-deductible for U.S. donors. Financial documentation is publicly available through nonprofit transparency databases, including Candid and ProPublica's Nonprofit Explorer.
Recent projects extended beyond emergency response. The foundation raised $100,000 during a December 2024 Giving Tuesday campaign to construct a school in Bihar, India, partnering with Rising Star Outreach to serve children from leprosy-affected communities.
The organization's mission encompasses self-reliance initiatives, healthcare access, education, sanitation, clean water projects, and efforts addressing human trafficking. Projects span 111 countries, including those where doTERRA sources essential oils through its Co-Impact Sourcing program.
Since the emergency kit program launched in 2017, distribution has accelerated as both product availability and volunteer networks expanded. The nearly 445,000 kits distributed represent responses to dozens of natural disasters and ongoing support for vulnerable populations, including homeless communities.
Foundation leadership projects continued growth in both emergency response capacity and long-term development projects.
