CALA GRACIONETA: A Hidden Gem in Ibiza

Salade at CALA GRACIONETA: A Hidden Gem in Ibiza

Hidden in a quiet spot by the crystal-clear waters of Ibiza’s San Antonio coast, sits Cala Gracioneta, a place known for blending Mediterranean soul, flavour and produce for the ultimate beach dining experience.

We stopped by Cala Gracioneta on a recently trip to the Balerics, and it was just the night we were looking for after a day in the sunshine. Located in a secluded cove with a small beach, the restaurant has a cozy yet lively ambiance. Outfitted with solid wood tables and comfortable furniture, it feels classic and fresh all at once. A live DJ spins mood setting beats as the sun sets, creating a perfect Ibiza setting for a great meal. For those dining with kids, there is a small, safe beach in eye distance for them to play while you wait for dinner to be served.

In true Spanish style, the service at Cala Gracioneta was exceptional. With our friendly server patiently helping us decide on dinner, when we were feeling a little lightheaded (and hungry!) after a bit too much fun in sun early that say. Despite a few dietary restrictions at the table, she helped us select some amazing food.

CALA GRACIONETA Resturant: A Hidden Gem in Ibiza

As always in Ibizia, we started things off with the bread and aioli and - I know, you can get this anywhere in spain, but at Cala Gracioneta this staple dish is out of this world and the best I’ve had in my week of traveling so far. We also got a round of delicious cocktails, and then some sangria. Don’t think twice about the sangria - we got it less sweet and it was perfect.

Moving on to bigger plates, the chicken was incredibly crispy, full of flavor, and juicy, while the clams were fresh and yummy. The alburgine had a silky and gentle texture with a sweet and spicy kick. While they are known for their large beef and fish dishes to share, the small dishes we shared amongst us were perfect. The next time i come (and there will be a next!) I'm definitely going to order the sea bass to share and re order some of the sides like the asparagus, aubergine, and tomato salad on my next visit.

With its stylish yet relaxed atmosphere, Cala Gracioneta works just as well for a romantic date night away from the kids, as it does family dinner with them. A true hidden gem amongst the abundance of tourist hot spots, Cala Gracioneta is a must visit for anyone heading to the White Island of Ibiza.
